Making money online is more involved today than it used to be. A few years ago it was fairly easy to get started in the online money making game. It may just be different than it used to be, not just harder. The average Joe has caught on to the gimick's that just a few years ago worked great. People are just more savvy these days. Ot wasn't very flong ago that those anoying popups were everywhere. The market sure met the demand on that stuff, because everything has a popup blocker in it now. What was so cleaver about these software makers was that they sold it through affiliate marketers who utilized the annoying pop-up windows to market the pop-up blocker software. I hope those affiliate marketers made enough money to make that worth their wild. I doub't they got much repeat business or conversions on any of their other offers after selling that one. Oh, the irony of it all.
Honestly, whoever came up with the idea of popup advertising was either a moron, or the implementation of his idea was just never understood by his followers. Without targeting the popup to the customer it sue was a waste. Without thinking about who your customer is, and offering them something that they want, it is a real waste of resources really. They have a few sayings that people use to describe someone who is a real good salesman that goes something like, "that guy could sell a snowball to an eskimo" or "He could sell a glass of water to a drowning man." My Grandpa used to say, "I have some beach front property I can sell ya if you believe that one", which is grandpa-talk for "don't be an idiot".
Believe it or not, I am about to make a very important point. One of those simple lessons in life. Don't try to sell snowballs to eskimo's online, and don't buy any beach front property in Arizona. People are technology savvy today. Zero in on a target market, compile some demographics, build a site that fills a need and promote it. It is pretty simple really. If you build a site and target your advertising to the demograophics of that site the money will come. You can not just build a lame website about grad level chemistry and then try to sell viagra or acai berry on it. You need to think about targeting your audience or you are wasting your time An example of a targeted website is a site about the xbox promoted to gamers and monetized with ads for xbox cheats or xbox games. Simple enough isn't it?
Check out the way these peope do it:The cardio twister store website has targeted a specific piece of exercise equipment. The Davinci Kalani Crib site is targeting parents, and more specifically a specific baby crib. If you target your site to a specifc product like the Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor is easier to manage and target.
